OUR STORY
Rio Coffee is proudly South Australian owed and family operated since 1964, the oldest coffee roasting house in South Australia. Rio offers hand-roasted, speciality coffee – roasted to order – to businesses and individuals who place importance on quality, exclusivity and value. Over the past 50 years, the business has built itself upon a dedicated, human-to-human focus on customer service and brand representation of the highest quality.
At Rio Coffee we pride ourselves on offering premium coffee, food and beverage products to businesses and individuals who place a high value on quality and exclusivity. We are informed, but not constrained by our long history in the industry. We are perpetually reforming, modernising, and improving our practices; infrastructure and product catalogue to ensure the Rio brand remains at the forefront of hospitality development in Australia.
Our coffee production is supported by an in-house service fleet, as well as specialist barista trainers and education facilities that are available to commercial and domestic customers. In support of our coffee production, Rio Coffee has meticulously sourced an array of gourmet foods and imported beverages that we endorse wholeheartedly and are excited to share with our clientele. We aim to establish meaningful long-term relationships with all our suppliers – local or international, and an understanding that business is a two-way exchange. We source artisan products and have developed a range of both local and international products to establish a portfolio to rival any supplier.
EARLY YEARS
The man who started it all – Fulvio Pagani – still holds a key position within the company, and remains heavily involved in our daily business. Having emigrated from Italy in the 1950’s Fulvio started Rio Coffee in 1964 with a small 10kg roaster and a blue Volkswagen van; blending, roasting and learning about coffee on a day-to-day basis.
